Wallflowers!! DIY!!

Supplies:
1. Toilet Paper Rolls
2. Glitter
3. Pearl like beads
4. Hot Glue Gun & Sticks
5. Spray Glue
6. Spray Paint!
7. Four clothes pins

Steps:
1. Fold in half and then Cut rolls in to 1 1/2 - 2 sections
Depending on much you want them to come off the walls.
2. Clothes pin the folded rolls into a flowers shape...
Once you got the shape you want remove one of the clothes pin,
add hot glue between pieces, and then replace clothes pin! (quickly & then repeat)
3. Once glue has set... Spray Paint, [I did mine black :)] then let them dry...
4. Then use spray glue to coat the tops of the flowers
5. Immediately after spraying dip into Glitter!!
6. Hot glue bead on to center, let dry and Enjoy!!

These can go almost anywhere in the house. I put mine on a kitchen wall and everyone loves them.
Just another fun and cheap way to decorate. They can even be used as party decorations! How fun would that be? How about painting them pastel colors for Easter?? Now I'm getting more Ideas just doing the post... haha. I guess thats the way Life goes. Hope you enjoy!

Sorry for bad lighting in the pictures, I took them at night!

DIY glitter clips and my first post in forever= Happiness!

This project was really easy and yes it was as easy as one, two, three.
I completed this at the office on my lunch break. This project is easy but fun and stylish to. For me this craft was free but if you don't have supplies on hand it will only cost about $5.00!
But with that you get a whole bag of clips to glitterfy! :D
Also fun for kids who love sparkly things!

Just spray clips with spray glue, dip in glitter and let dry!!
Volia!

One extra step I did though, to help set the glitter was to give it one little spritz of glue after its done dry. Just to make sure the glitter wasn't going anywhere.
But the process is kind of messy if your not careful because spray glue gets everywhere!

Hope you have a blast making glitter clips!
I would love to see what you decided to glitterfy go ahead and post your pictures below :)

Small Update!
my mouse pad is still not working but I found a USB mouse in my junk drawer that is taking the place of the pad. It can be a little annoying but I'm thankful I now have full mouse capabilities!! I hope to get it fixed before April but I just don't know when thats going to happen... Will see! But for now I am a proud user of a USB mouse hehe!

O and I've also been busy because my mom decided
to move to Seattle so as of right now she's currently living with me!

Hope You Have A Great Week!!!

Technical Difficulties!

I haven't posted anything lately because my computer has been having technical difficulties. Mainly its the mouse pad freaking out on me. I am unable to to drag and drop. Or highlight... Which makes editing photo's and adding photos to a blog very difficult. So until I find the time to go to the Apple store to see if they can fix that problem I am kind of out of luck. I do have a bluetooth mouse but it doesn't right click :( So I need to new mice lol. But as soon as I get these issues fixed I will post a new blog. Actually a lot of new blogs. I can post two a day at the rate I'm going :) Sorry to keep you waiting.... If anyone actually reads my blog. I hope someone out there does and I hope you enjoy it.

Nails and holidays!!

I typically don't like to photograph my hands but
I couldn't help it when I got done painting my nails.
I know they didn't turn out just right but they do have that cute factor.

Simple, quick and fun.
What more could you want?
I used...
  • toothpick
  • Clear top/bottom coat
  • white, pink, red & raspberry polish colors with a touch of glitter...
Then I just simply coated each nail in clear coat. Aloud to dry. Then began with one color on the tip of each nail and worked my way up. Just dipping to toothpick in the colors then poking my nails.
Thats about it :)

Simple, Right?
O and the heart I did with a toothpick as well. Just outlined a heart in dot formation then filled it in!

Enjoy and Happy Valentines Day.

Until Tomorrow

Conversational Hearts [diy craft]

What do you do when there's a snow storm?
Well you skype one of your best friends and make crafts.
What else is there to do?

This is how it turned out...
Photo credits go to Teresa over at Twisted Wire
(She wrote in hers, I didn't)

(my dog also really like mine, she kept growling at the others
to get away when they were in front of her... Silly dog)

First gather your
Ingredients:
  • 2 Cups Flour
  • 1 Cup Salt
  • 1 Cup Water
  • Food Coloring (as many colors as you would like)
  • Cookie Cutter (heart shaped)

Directions:
Mix flour, salt and water together.
In hopes that it will be like a sugar cookie dough just not as tasty.
Separate dough into balls (I did four)
Mix in food coloring to each ball
Dust cutting board with flour (this is a must)
Dust top of dough ball with flour (this is a must to)
Roll out... Thickness is your choice.
Cut with cookie cutter and place on cookie sheet :)

Photo Credits go to Teresa at Twisted Wire

Tips and tricks:
Because I did this with a friend we made about a total of three batches.
With each one we learned something new. For instance...
She added the food coloring to the water for one of her batches.
I just dived the dough and added it straight to my separate balls of dough.
Then we both had the problem of them puffy up durning baking...
So we soon found out that you can apply pressure to them before you put them in the oven that helps prevent the puffiness. For example, if you take your already made (not baked) hearts that are on the cookie sheet and apply wax paper with another flat surface of some sort that should do the trick :)
Oven time and temp:
Then you bake them at 250 degrees for about an 1 1/2
Which really will depend on oven and thickness of your hearts.
The hearts can also be poked with a straw to create a hole for ribbon if you choose to hang them.
They do make really cute hanging decorations as well.

Finishing touches:
Use a red marker of some sorts to write on them
or feel free use what ever color/colors you choose.
String with ribbon if you put holes in yours...
Then volia your done.
Easy as 1..2...3...

Side Notes:

I'm thinking about making large ones to hang on the back of my bar stools.
Teresa also thought it would be really cute to make them for her kids classroom so they can all decorate them. Or even make them as Valentines to give away in the classroom. They are so very easy to personalize :)

Sorry for the bad lighting. I didn't edit them and
I took them at night in my kitchen which has really bad lighting.

Youtube Tuesday!

So lets see how this goes. This is my first or hopefully many "Youtube Tuesdays".
Each Tuesday I will share a crafty video of some sorts. To help spread the Creative fever around the web. May we go forth and make pretty things :)
Okay, Now back to the Video...
I wanted to show this video for two reasons.
1. She out creativity and a special touch on a wide known song
2. I feel that it helps speak out about bullying

Wasn't that nicely done?
I thought so :)

Before & After [Chairs]

"Goodwill Hunting"
Thats not a movie but more of an action that I like to do when I have spare time and cash.
Going to the Goodwill or Salvation army can have many different outcomes.
Sometimes I just simply feel disappointed because they over priced all their items,
I didn't get there soon enough so all the good items are gone,
or I find something really awesome and it turns in to a project for me :)

Thats what happened when I went hunting for chairs. I knew that computer chairs are hard to come by
(at least ones that aren't broken) especially at any a thrift store. The cost of a normal computer chair is just insane though. Now way was I going to fork out that kind of money just so I could have something that swivels.

With all that in mind I went "Hunting" and I went to three different place trying to make sure that I was going to make the right choice. Of course the first place that I went to had exactly what I wanted. I went to the fabric store before going to buy the chairs. To just simply make sure that this wasn't going to be a crazy project.... and it wasn't. See for yourself :)

A little spray paint and fabric is what turned these very ugly chairs into some really stylish ones :) And before I forget... this project cost under $20.
Two chairs with my personal touch for under $20 bucks who can beat that?

Supplies Needed:
  • 1 1/2 yards of fabric (thick)
  • Staple Gun
  • Scratcher or sand paper
  • Chairs
  • Screw Driver
  • Spray Paint

Pick fabric, Cut frabic

Take staple gun and start stapling around, while pulling fabric taught

Scratch up/Sand the base and then spray paint

Volia, your done :)

Five Dollar Friday (Favorites)

I have two dogs and one cat.
Plus I just became a foster parent to a very cute puppy named Abby.
So I'm always in needs for something to destain my carpet.
And...
Spot Shot is that something.
I can't say enough about this stuff.
Their pet one is also very much amazing.
I only wish it wasn't so high at Safeway.
But I did recently find some and it was under $5
So that is why I'm sharing :)

So if you have some new, old, or tough stains then I recommend Spot Shot.
I do love all natural cleaners and homemade one as well but nothing really works like this stuff. What's strange is I only started using it after my older dog got a bladder infection and starting having accidents.

May you have clean and spotless carpets...
Or at least spotless.
I feel like my carpets are really never clean. I even own a mini carpet cleaner by Bissle.

P.S.
I also recently made my own laundry soap...
AND...
It works wonderfully!!!
